More to come
We have just finished building a gazebo and pizza oven to host a wine club. The current plan is to have friends and neighbors bring their favorite bottle of wine to taste and share. We will fire up the pizza oven for some delicious pizza.
The first wine club event will be happening sometime in September 2022. Stay tuned.
Late August and September bring the vendemmia or grape harvest. Come help pick grapes or assist with the crush.
It is looking like we will be picking grapes either Labor Day weekend or the weekend following this year. (2022) Contact Janice if you would like to help.
While the snow flies the wine is busy aging in the cellar and we are busy clearing snow to get out of the driveway.
Before the vines bud out Janice is busy pruning and prepping the gardens.
Spring of 2022 also had us (mainly Bob) putting in new trellising and water for more Petite Pearl vines. Janice did the actual planting while Bob did the really hard stuff.
These are our indoor cats. They are all rescue kitties.
Fini (long hair, top left) came from a friend who passed away from cancer. She and her brother came to live with us. He passed away several years ago but she is 18 years old and still hanging in there.
Sylvie (tuxedo kitty) was one of the feral colony but was sweet and friendly enough to come live inside. She has a bad eye and we were afraid that might endanger her life if she stayed out with the colony.
Oliver (tabby) was abandoned by his mother when he was a week old. We heard him crying in the loafing shed from inside the house and when it became apparent mom wasn't returning, he came inside. We bottle fed him and now he is quite a character. He keeps us entertained.
Abby and Kylie are also rescue animals. Abby was rescued from a kill shelter in New Mexico and Kylie from Texas.
Abby came from All Aboard Animal Rescue. Their website is http://aaanimalrescue.org.
Kylie came from 4 Paws for Life. Their website is https://4p4l.org/
UPDATE: Unfortunately Abby crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in July 2022. Kylie misses her sister but is enjoying all the extra attention. Abby is the lower picture.
